The warriors were triumphant in the Equals tournament against local rivals Stanley United.
The home side were impressive with both 5 a side teams looking dominant in play. The tournament really showed the strength and depth in the warriors side. Both the teams made it to the final but a winner could not be decided due to time constraints. Jalil Akbar picked up the player of the tournament. Hopefully we can continue this next year.
The Warriors crashed to their first home defeat against basement boys Wrenthorpe Rangers on Sunday. They took the lead through Sunny with neat finish. Wrernthorpe responded with a goal from a set piece. From then Nxt Gen were looking to get the next goal and put the game to bed but didn't show any drive from previous games. But Wrenthorpe showed resilience and took the lead with a looping header, and added another from a tight angle. With 3-1 down Nxt Gen finally woke up and cut the deficit to 3-2. The warriors battled to the end but unfortunately could not find an equaliser. The match ended 3-2 to Wrenthorpe, with Nxt Gen man of the match went to Jalil Akbar, Ali Khan and Akeem Field.
